About NetPulse
NetPulse is a browser-based internet speed test and network diagnostic tool. It is designed to help users inspect download throughput, upload throughput, latency, jitter, browser-visible provider metadata, and local diagnostic history.
Measurement Approach
NetPulse uses supported browser measurement providers, including Cloudflare Speedtest and M-Lab NDT7. Metrics are displayed when provider APIs expose real samples. Values that cannot be measured in the browser are shown as unavailable rather than fabricated.
Browser Limits
A normal browser cannot run raw-socket traceroute, MTR, or ICMP diagnostics from the user's device. Any future backend trace feature should be labeled as a backend probe trace, not a user's exact device route.
Editorial Standard
NetPulse aims to explain network diagnostics in clear language and avoid misleading claims. The application separates measured values, provider metadata, display-only region references, and unavailable browser-only data.
